Who Am I?

I am a parent who has tried all the things out there to help my autistic son. I always knew he had more inside of him, but for many years, we couldn’t access it in a reliable way. After more than 20 years on this journey, I have more hope than ever before—and I truly believe we now have the tools to help him keep progressing in his life and share his authentic thoughts.

Because of our experience, I’m passionate about helping families have a smoother journey as they navigate autism in everyday life. Through supporting my son and our family with spelling, I knew I wanted him to have a community around him—and I love helping other families find that same support too.

Along the way, I have learned through making many mistakes, and I want to share what we’ve learned so parents can stop doubting and questioning themselves. Most of all, I hope to help nonspeakers and unreliable speakers build confidence, find their voice, and be heard.

It all starts with presuming competence.
